Deputy Consul General of Pakistan in Shanghai Visits NTVU to Discuss China-Pakistan Cooperative Talent Cultivation

On January 14th, Muhammad Atif, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of Pakistan in Shanghai, visited the industry-education integration training base of NTVU located in Nantong Digital Transportation Industrial Park, accompanied by Xiao Lin, Deputy Director of the Asian Affairs Department of the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office. Xu Sheng, Member of the University Party Committee and Vice President, warmly received the guests. Liu Wansheng, Director of the University Development Planning Office (International Cooperation and Exchange Office), Gu Zhixiang, Secretary of the General Party Branch of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, and Wan Zhimin, Dean of the School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering, attended the reception.

Muhammad Atif visited the Intelligent Transportation Industry-Education Training Base and the Yangtze River Delta Regional Shared Intelligent Manufacturing Industry-Education Integration Training Base. The base manager elaborated on the base's construction philosophy of “integration of industry and education, symbiosis between universities and enterprises”, focusing on demonstrating the configuration of training facilities, the integrated teaching mode of “posts, courses, competitions and certificates”, as well as the achievements in skill talent training through cooperation with enterprises in Nantong and the Yangtze River Delta region. This fully showcased the university's educational and teaching strength in the fields of intelligent transportation and intelligent manufacturing, as well as its characteristics in applied talent cultivation.

During the visit, Muhammad Atif met with representatives of Pakistani international students studying at NTVU, inquired about their study and life in Nantong, encouraged them to cherish the learning opportunities, actively integrate into campus and local life, give full play to the role of bridges and bonds, and contribute to cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and Pakistan.

At the forum, Vice President Xu Sheng extended a warm welcome to Muhammad Atif and his entourage. He introduced NTVU including the school-running scale, discipline layout, and achievements in international cooperation and exchanges, with a focus on expounding the mature experience in the fields of industry-education integration and university-enterprise cooperation. He pointed out that NTVU attaches great importance to educational cooperation with Pakistan, and hopes to take this visit as an opportunity, focus on the needs of local talent development in Pakistan, rely on the resources of Chinese-funded enterprises in Pakistan, build a talent training system of "university-enterprise collaboration and transnational linkage", jointly cultivate applied talents suitable for local industrial development in Pakistan, and promote China-Pakistan educational cooperation to a deeper level and more practical fields.

Muhammad Atif emphasized that China and Pakistan enjoy a profound traditional friendship, and educational cooperation is an important pillar for consolidating the foundation of friendship between the two countries. He fully agreed with the idea of carrying out cooperative training relying on Chinese-funded enterprises in Pakistan, believing that this model can not only meet the demand for skilled talents in Pakistan's industrial development but also give full play to the advantages of our university's industry-education integration, with broad prospects for cooperation. He stated that the Consulate General of Pakistan in Shanghai will actively play the role of a bridge and link, fully promote our university to build cooperation platforms with relevant institutions and Chinese-funded enterprises in Pakistan, implement specific cooperation projects, help young people from both countries grow together through exchanges and cooperation, and inject new vitality into the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.

Muhammad Atif's visit will further deepen the interconnection between China and Pakistan in the field of education, and make new contributions to enhancing the friendship between the two peoples and promoting people-to-people exchanges and mutual learning.
